last weekend of books & boxes, the sequel

We covered much ground between Friday night and Saturday.
I stayed until 9:45pm Friday night and 4:30pm on Saturday! Two extra hours of work time!

On Friday night we learned the Book on Three Tapes structure. This is the book that has exposed tapes (made by wrapping and gluing Tyvek around decorative paper) and beads (optional). The running stitch holds it all together. It is a relatively fast structure to put together. Adding the beads is interesting and effective. Or letting the long stitch show over the tapes is also beautiful. This book is one that I've admired often and wondered about! I'm so happy to know this structure. I made three books using it.

One of the books is my 'artist's book' (a book that has content) to hold the black & white photos I took in Italy this past summer. I've spent many hours in the darkroom the past two weeks, working on printing. My hope is to continue printing and adding the photos to the book. I used a map of Italy for the cover paper, a Florentine paper for the cover lining, Canson Mi-Tientes  and glassine paper for the interior pages.
