| use T-pin and template to predrill holes 1/2" from top and bottom edge |

| not exactly lined up! |

| follow directions in setting up the stack (foredge toward you and bottom cover first) |

| start one needle in each hole, from inside to outside, tie a bow inside |
 |
| crisscross needles on the inside of each signature |
 |
| move up one signature at a time, use the kettle stitch after the third and each subsequent signature |
 |
| see how the kettle stitch looks? like a chain stitch, dip the needle down one layer, back up, and through itself |
