Slip Case Construction

The slipcase for the two needle book is a small thing and it requires some precision calculations. However, once the mat board pieces are cut to the correct size the assembly is a piece of cake. My photos are not in sequence, something I'm finding is a problem with this blog template.

The photo here shows the box glued up: (scroll down to see the start of the process)
adjusting the sides gently with a pencil end

sizing up the paper, glue only the path of the box sides

starting to place the box along the wrap

snipping the creases to rid excess paper before tucking into the box (with glue)

glue down the edges

snip paper at front edge of box to fold inside

tucked in front, continue to glue edges to sides of box

measuring for side paper (decorative)

here is where the process starts:

this was supposed to be the first photo, showing the mat board pieces for the slip case

MATH!!

a lovely book and slip case

PLACE A RULER ON THE CUTTING BOARD FOR ACCURACY

glue the box with tacky glue

store tacky glue flat, when using put in container like this so the flow is easier

gluing on the other side
